Well...truly the these holidays bid sad times every year it seems for families.  The great one & only Mr. James Brown has passed on.  He will be missed so much because as you know he was a true trend-setter!   He has definately left his mark!

Of whom they call the fifth beetle, Mr. Billy Preston has died.  He suffered from chronic kidney failure.  As you know, he had written severl hits!  Some of the songs were very beautiful like--With you I'm born again and Nothin' from nathin leaves nathin... Well through all the confusion and unsettlements, homegrown Kabaka Oba died yesterday from the five gunshot wounds he  suffered Wednesday.  I knew him.  We talked last year on Fountain Square.  He was respectful to me.  I understood his struggle of cousre and I tried to explain to him that we in America are in this condition because of the disobedience of Israel towards God.  He clearly understood what I was saying. But to be a man of color in America and fight against all the things that go on in our communities-even with our own people is certainly troublesome.  So...another black man gone from black on black crime over disagreements, pride, and sin!  It's certainly sad.  Read details here.  National coverage also.

This is the great Holy Week meaning the death of Jesus Christ.  It is fitting to also ecknowledge those in the earth that have passed these past few days also.  We lost two dearly loved singers in the black community.  Ms. June Pointer(view slideshow) of the legendary Pointer Sisters and Cincinnati homegrown gospel great Mr. Charles Fold.  Not passed away, just passed on till the great second ressurection.  That's another story. Mrs. Dana Reeves, wife of the late Christopher Reeves has passed on.  She had lung cancer.  She was not a smoker.  Wow.  I am acknowledging her because as you probably know, she was an incredible person.  I mean to take care of her husband against all odds when Mr. Reeves suffered a fall & paralysis from riding his horse one day is just so very commedable.  She was an extrodinary person. Wonderful mother, wife & humanitarian, she was a great human being.  Dana had a fabulous attitude!  We as women really need to adopt some of it I think!  I remember an interview her & Christopher gave some years ago.  They were being questioned about maintaining their intimacy despite the odds.  Boyiii her attitude was awesome.  She laughed and answered that there are creative ways to do things.   After seeing her from time to time with her husband it was obvious that she was certainly a dedicated wife & extrodinary woman.  She is resting in peace waiting for the 2nd ressurrection of the dead.  That's another story.  Keep following me and I'll get to that subject in time.  Here are photos of their life right of article. Shalom(grace & peace) unto her family, friends and you too! :-)
